Faith, Reason, and the Good Life
In this lecture, we will explore the vibrant intellectual and cultural life of medieval Jewish Baghdad through close engagement with primary sources. Through guided study of primary texts, we will consider enduring philosophical questions such as the nature of the divine, religious authority, and the good life.
About the Speaker
Eliyahu Freedman is an Iraqi Jewish educator and independent scholar dedicated to making Sephardic and Mizrahi intellectual history accessible to a broad audience. He holds an M.A. in Talmud from Tel Aviv University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Judeo-Arabic Studies.
