THE KABBALISTIC TREE OF LIFE
Ilanot, or tree diagrams, are an essential part of Kabbalah-Jewish mysticism, and have been used in one form or another since Kabbalah’s earliest texts. The Tree of Life is a map of the continuous unfolding process of creation through which, according to the Kabbalists, the infinite divine manifests itself in the world of finite experience.
Through a close examination of part of Sefer Yetzirah – The Book of Formation, possibly the oldest kabbalistic text, we will discover how the Tree is formed, its internal logic, and gain insights for the further study of Kabbalah.
